By now I should know better
Than to read
What you write
But time and again
I press that button
Read more
More
More
And this wave of words
Comes flowing
Bringing your dangerous fiction
Into existence
And as I hope
For more resistance
I know that people are tired
Wondering if there is anything to gain
From going through the pain
Of engaging with you

Your opinion is merely
An assumption
A thought
A feeling
A point of view
That you offer to us
Again and again
But you can never
Explain
Clarify
Justify
You lack insight
And a deeper understanding
But still you are
Constantly demanding
Attention
You expect us to nod and agree;
Confirm that your narrative
Is objective reality
You were taught that your opinion is
Valid
Important
Deserving of an audience
And you
Talk
Write
And talk
But never read
Never listen
So convinced
Of your distorted vision

All other voices
You work hard to
Stifle
Subdue
Suppress
Silence
Reacting to dissent
By inciting violence
We don’t know
If we should laugh or cry
When you call every objection
A serious breach
Of your highly held right
To free speech (!?)

Sometimes we see no other option
Than to retreat
Just for a while
To breathe
Protect ourselves
But don’t be deceived
Or for a second believe
That you can claim
Some kind of victory
Because we are still here
